CONGRATULATIONS: Our second grade students received First Holy Communion this weekend. Please hold our first communicants and their families in prayer in a special way. Many thanks to Ms. Terri Simeoni for coordinating the sacramental program for the children of the parish.
LIGHTS, CAMERA, AUCTION!: What a spectacular event! THANK YOU to everyone who donated/created/ procured auction items as well as those who bought them. It was a great time together as well. The evening was a truly wonderful display of commitment, generosity and creativity on the part of our school community. Special thanks to our auction co-chairs, Dave and Kelly Lenti and Tom and Jamie Cushing.
An order form for the DVD and the picture frames that were on sale the night of the auction is attached to this bulletin. (A recommendation: Becky Hayes has been taking pictures in classrooms and at school events all year long, and the results on the DVD are truly amazing. The pictures and music capture the spirit of our school quite nicely.)
Preliminary results on the auction indicate that we will clear close to $170,000. (The goal was $125,000.) Unbelievable!!! THANK YOU!!!
EAST CAMPUS ART SHOW: KUDOS to the staff at East Campus for putting together such an attractive display of the creativity and imagination of our youngest artists. It was another wonderful evening that showed some of the best SFX has to offer.
ART DISPLAY: Please stop by the LaGrange Public Library to see a sampling of beautiful art created by St. Francis Xavier students. The art will be on display throughout the library until May 31st. The exhibit includes works from students at St. Francis Xavier, St. Cletus, and St. John Lutheran Schools.
ANGELMAN WALKATHON: A message from the Geraghty family --
BLESSED WITH AN ANGEL
As many of you are already aware, our family has been blessed with its very own angel. In January, 2003, our daughter, Grace, was diagnosed with Angelman Syndrome, a somewhat rare genetic disorder characterized by severe developmental delays, seizures and lack of speech. It is time once again for the annual Angelman Syndrome walkathon…won’t you consider joining us or supporting us on Saturday May 17 th in Naperville as we walk to raise funds for and awareness of Angelman Syndrome? The annual national walkathon, being held in nearly 20 cities, serves to improve the day-to-day lives of those with Angelman Syndrome and to raise funds for research and improved medical treatments for those with Angelman Syndrome. For more information on Angelman Syndrome, please visit www.angelman.org. To register for the walkathon, please visit www.firstgiving.com/angelmanwalk. To sponsor us as we walk, please visit www.firstgiving.com/johngeraghty to visit our fundraising page or call/email me at 708-579-1733 or gersfenn@juno.com. We have been truly blessed to live in a community where people so obviously truly care about each other. Thank you in advance for your support and please continue to keep us in your prayers.
Sincerely, The Geraghty Family – John, Sue, Marie, Anna, Grace and Eleanor
