Fortnightly for 8th Graders

************Fortnightly Dance Class************

One of the rites of 8th grade is getting dressed up, coming down to Joyce Hall, and getting introduced to dancing! It's only in part about dancing, the big part is being comfortable and poised in a new social situation.

In one year, the 8th graders will be going to dances, meeting new friends and their parents. The goal of Fortnightly is to help students feel comfortable and confident as they step out into this new world-and yes, sometimes they will be stepping onto a dance floor!

Most importantly, the kids have a great time, so please join us! (Participation in Fortnightly is optional).

REALIZE.......AND REMEMBER...............

• Asking someone to dance doesn't mean there is a romance involved.
• Mistakes will be made...Laugh at yourself, not at others.
• Feelings can be hurt, avoid it by thinking about what you do or say before you act.
• Don't be the "one" who risks spoiling it for everyone.
• The more you comply, the more you will learn, and thus it will be fun as you learn to dance with your classmates.
