St. Francis Xavier School is a learning community in which students are encouraged to be active learners, as they meet the intellectual, moral, and social challenges of living in an ever-changing technological and global society. Teachers and parents model and support an environment in which technology is embraced and utilized to enable life-long learning.
Acceptable Use PolicyIn order to protect children and to protect the school’s investment in information technology, SFX School has established an Acceptable Use Policy (AUP). The AUP applies to the computers and equipment used by students as well as the information accessible via technology.
The AUP at SFX sets the expectation for students, parents, and teachers to use information technology resources in a responsible fashion in accordance with SFX values. The AUP includes guidelines and requirements for those who access the technology resources at SFX. Before any student may use the technology resources at school, an agreement to abide by the rules outlined in the AUP must be signed by a parent or guardian and their child. Parents are asked to read the agreement carefully and discuss it with students before signing. A new agreement must be signed each year.
