Service Program


In an effort to demonstrate our school’s commitment to service and develop a program that is meaningful for our students, which will actively engage them with people and causes they are servicing, rather than just being a part of a “collection”, St. Francis has implemented a new service program.

Each grade will focus on a theme and each theme will have 3 components:

  1. EDUCATION
  2. TAKING ACTION
  3. REFLECTION


Below is a list of the themes for each grade:
Pre:    Care for Living Things – God’s Creation
Kdg:   God’s Creation
1st:    Aging/Elderly
2nd:   Education
3rd:    Poverty & Homelessness
4th:    Hunger
5th:    Veterans & Military Service Members
6th:    Special Needs/Disabilities
7th:    Human/Civil Rights
8th:    Social Justice

This program also allows us to practice and live the school motto...

“We Pray, We Learn, We Serve”

 

On December 3rd, 2010, each of the grades at SFX will be participating

in an All School Service Day offsite project related to their grade level service theme.  Please see

the attached spreadsheet for the names of the volunteers assigned to each field trip.
