Volunteer Opportunities
The success of the SFX Religious Education Program depends upon parent volunteers. Parent participation is required to make this program a continued success. You will be asked to help with only one.
Education
- Religious Education Catechist**
- Teaching / co-teaching
- Teacher assistant
- Substitute Catechist
Worship
- Children's Liturgy of the Word** - Volunteers gather with children at 5:00 mass on Saturday during the school year.
- Reflectors lead discussion 6 times a year
- Shepherds lead children to gathering place 4 times a year
**Must have completed or will complete online background check, Protecting God's Children Training and a DCFS form**
Parish Life
- November Pizza Party - Volunteers needed to work together to host this annual family gathering
Service to the Parish
- Room Parent - You will be given a list of names and phone numbers of children in your child's class and you will be asked to contact the families if the need ever arises to cancel class.
- Bridge Building - You will work on a committee with parents from Religious Ed and Day School to continue promoting unity; Such as Catholic Schools Week, service opportunities, etc.
